Cameron Whitehead
Position(s): Goalie Realistic Potential Rating (1-10): 6.0D Draft Year: 2022

Fantasy Summary

A long-term project, he’s big and tracks the play well, but will need to become more poised and learn to use his size to his advantage to make it at the next level.

Observations

September 2025 – Whitehead completed his collegiate career with Northeaster University. Over 70 appearances, he sported a 2.68 GAA and .914 save percentage to go along with a 30-31-6 record.

He signed his ELC and joined the Henderson Silver Knights at the end of the season. He figures to join their ranks as their backup goalie in the upcoming season. He will find himself behind Carl Lindbom on the depth chart, and won’t be worth assigning a roster spot on your fantasy team to until we can get a read of his acclimation to the AHL level.

He has a good frame, and his performances at previous levels has been decent, so he’s worth keeping an eye on for now. Alex Wyatt

March 2025 – The Vegas Golden Knights signed Whitehead to a two-year, entry-level contract. Mark Henry

January 2024 – Whitehead put a strong cap on his USHL career with another solid season and a playoff appearance last year while backing the Lincoln Stars. This season, Whitehead has taken over the net for Northeastern following Devon Levi (BUF) ascending to the pro level. Entering the final weeks of the season, the 20 year old will likely return to the Huskies for another year of college hockey in 2024-25. Taylor Davis

October 2022 – The Vegas prospect has gotten off to a hot start already this season, being named USHL goalie of the week in the league’s first week of the season, posting two wins and a shutout to go with a .978 save percentage. Drafted in the fourth round of this past summer’s draft in his second year of eligibility, Whitehead plays a self-described “technically sound” game to match his large frame and awareness. He has the reflexes and ability to scramble when he needs to, although he may be well served to focus on improving his rebound control and limiting those secondary chances in the first place. He’ll spend one more year with Lincoln in the USHL before starting his college career at Northeastern next fall. Taylor Davis
