Calgary Flames offseason update

Since taking over the gm position Gm Boud as been evaluating the team from top to bottom and he didnt like what he saw.  Boud saw the flames who won the RHL cup last year missing the playoffs by four points. so we sat down with the new gm to talk about is plan for the team .

Me : What was your first impression  of the team when you took over ?

Boud : When i took over i was excited the team won the cup last year we have two superstar in mathews and marchand we have three solid dman and binnington i really liked the roster, but after looking closely im realizing that we dont have much depht  and prospect .

Me :Does that mean you will sacrifice one of your star player to add depht to your roster? 

Boud: Every options is on the table what i can say is that we already started talks with other teams to make changes to the roster.i can confirm that we have a handshake agreement on a trade already and we are close to make another one soon. This team will look different next year that for sure.

Me : Should we expect a rebuild ?

Boud: I want a team who will compete for a long time and the way this team is built it wont happen so we have to make changes it might hurt us short time but ill be working the phone to make this team better as fast as i can.

Me:Have you started negociations with marchand and the rfas ?

Boud: Yes talks with Brad are going in the right direction  i can confirm that we have resign brett pesce , michael mcloed and mason appleton but we are far  with duclair , kampf and kubel but we are still talking .

Me:What about the expansion draft did you make your list yet ?

Boud: yeah we will protect mathews , marchand , lee , karlsson , greenway , mcloed , duclair ,ekblad , pesce, morissey and binnington. jankrok , kampf ,kubel, appleton , bogosian , brossoit will be avail for seattle.
