Sens Re-Sign Malkin 2021-07-11 OTTAWA, ON Earlier this week the Senators - now under new management - announced the re-signing of Evgeni Malkin. The 34-year old team captain committed to a 4 year, $30 million deal with the club. He was set to become a UFA on July 28th. "Evgeni is a superstar in this league", said the GM, "the leadership he brings to this organization is unmatched and we are thrilled that he agreed to stay". After this signing the Sens still project to be below the cap floor. Expect the team to be active in free agency this summer. New GM Noddan has cap to spend but significant roster holes to fill if Ottawa expects to be a competitive team this season.
