To buy or not to buy !

  With the trade deadline coming up ahead , everyone expected the Calgary Flames to be sellers at the trade deadline but for the last month gm Boudreau did the opposite. It all started when the Flames acquired shea theodore for winger blake coleman , with that trade  the Flames solidified the back end  and found themself a top pairing dman to play with morgan reilly. The team then moved veteran mattias ekholm who was struggling  for two good prospects in noah warren and tyler kleven with a 2nd and 3rd rnd pick in this yrs draft along with ben hutton who was sent on waivers today . 

   The Flames were not done and acquired ufa veteran centerman chandler stephenson for morgan barron fedor svechkov and chi 3rd rnd pick. stephenson  will bring leadership  and work ethics on this young team who hopes to resign him to a new contract in the summer. With gustavson and hoffer being the top goalies on the team connor ingram asked to be traded  and the team did just that and sent him to Florida in exchange for prospect koehn ziemmer a 4th and 6th rnd pick.

Lastly today the Flames did it agin and acquired a veteran w/c sean monahan for a 2nd and 6th rnd pick .

With the deadline coming soon who knows what this team will be doing , with a surplus of defenceman we expect that some dmen will be moving  there are also rumors about kevin hayes , gallagher  and clutterbuck and deslauriers to be available. All we know is that the Flames front office is being active  and wants to be competitive next year so on the trade deadline  will they buy or will they sell ?
