Nashville Bolsters The Line Up

2023-06-23

As the Predators season came to a close in 7 games against the Winnipeg Jets it left General Manager Robby in an odd place wondering "what exactly went wrong" overall. Throughout the season the matches against Winnipeg had been fast & furious leaving Nashville to sweep the regular season & walk in with confidence ready for what they felt would be a great series in general.

Sadly by the end of it all GM Jacklin's streak remained alive & well as he fell short in yet another Game 7 in the sim hockey world. Something that's plagued the veteran GM all the way back to Game 7 of a Cup Final in a league that no longer exists (Fuck you Nylander! Stu knows.. He fucking knows!)

Fast forward to days ahead of the draft we found Robby hard on the phone any where he could with his goal to revamp parts of the franchise ahead of not only the draft but the UFA market. We were able to catch up with him & inquire as to why he had this as his goal overall

"Look I got nothing but respect for the Winnipeg franchise & despite being the king of the poop Emoji RBK brings a lot to not only this division but the league as a whole. They found a way to shut down our middle 6 in a way we were not anticipating despite adjustments on the fly & our Captain Bo alongside Swaggy Swayman doing their parts to help get us over the finish line for an eventual date with that weirdo in Anaheim Video. Sadly it didn't happen & I felt we needed to get bigger & stronger both up front & on the back end"

Bigger & stronger was the goal & in a flash of 2 deals we in #PredsNation accomplished that goal overall. First up Mr. Jacklin found himself in the king of the cold's department eventually leading to Brrr breaking the ice for the following trade

To Nashville:Timo Meier

To San Jose: Fabian Lysell, Nicklas Backstrom & 21st Overall

This move simply put was a MONSTER with Timo coming off a solid season & expected to step right into what is anticipated to be a deadly top 6 projected to be

Fiala - Horvat - Meier
Bennett - Cirelli - Konecny

Next up eyes locked in on argueably the best hitter in the NHL today (Sorry boss Bill but you know it's true) as a deal was struck just hours before the draft with noteable late round pick hoarder Justin Cohen otherwise known as the Vegas Golden Hoarders which saw a quick negotiation alongside a lovely 3-way resulting in the following deal

To Nashville: Jacob "The Truck" Trouba, Florida 7th
To Vegas: Ivan Provorov, Nsh 6th

Projecting a top 4 D core that looks absolutely fierce in front of Swaggy Swayman looking like this as today

Trouba - Chabot
Dumba - Byram

With lots to go ahead of prospect creation, UFA & the eventual moment where our beloved GM loses his marbles & makes a flurry of other moves to try & prepare for another dance in the every tight & solid Central division we look forward to the things to come & the draft tonight!
