Calgary Flames offseason update

When Gm boud took over the flames he said he was gonna make some changes he didnt dissapoint.Gone are Auston mathews , brad marchand , Aaron Ekblad , josh norris and others . The Flames added much needed depht to the team but the question is are they still good. When Boud took over the flames only had one pick for the draft in the first three rounds now they have five in the first three rounds. i think its fair to say that this team will be a miracle if they make the playoffs but gm boud is confident that his rebuild wont last forever and this team will be a winner once again sooner rather than later.

immediate need - with the lost of mathews and norris  the flames finds themselves with no number one center  they hope that willie karlsson and tyler johnson can fill the hole for a little bit to give time to johnson , mctavish , turcotte to filled that role over time. 

Long term need - I think long term the flames need to find one or two star winger now they have arvidsson , greenway , duclair and tippett playing top six min. The team might also need to find a n.1 goalie long term  jordan binnington contract is up next year  and it seem that hell likely get traded or not resigned after that since the flames acquired gustaffson and joel hofer.

Cap situation- With all the trades gm boud made he stabilised is cap giving himself some cap room to sign free agents or make some trade later on .

In the system - Gm boud helped added some talented prospect so far in the offseason. The prospect pool was thin when he took over  now they can count on several good prospect in kent johnson , mason mctavish , alex turcotte , joel hofer , jack mcbain , aleksi heimosalmi , shakir muhkamadulin , jordan harris , kevin bahl , fedor svechkov , jesse ylonen  and many picks
