Western Conference Final Recap

2022-05-23

Western Final

Winnipeg Jets - 4 @ Arizona Coyotes - 1

  • Arizona leads series 2-1

The Jets migration south did wonders for their offense as they beat the Coyotes 4-1 and got themselves back into the series.

Winnipeg had only scored two goals over the course of the first two games back at the MTS Center. Kyle Connor blew that output of the water with three goals of his own at Gila RIver Arena.

The Coyotes got the crowd howling when they took the lead late in the first period off a goal from Game 2 hero Conor Sheary. That lead was shortlived though as Kyle Connor notched his first of the night under a minute later. Tyler Bozak scored in the second, his 6th goal of the playoffs, to give the Jets the only lead they'd need for the rest of the game. Kyle Connor added another goal before the period was out. He'd complete the hat-trick with the only goal of the third.

Connor posted a game-high 9 shots on net and his 'trick gives him 6 goals during the Jet's playoff run. It marked the first time Connor has found the goal column since Game 2 of the semifinal against the Avalanche.
