Playoff Post-Mortem, Columbus Blue Jackets
2022-05-26Series Summary
After going down 2-0 in the series, the Blue Jackets managed to take a pair of games to force the series to six, but ultimately fall to their division rivals.
Who Showed Up
Nazem Kadri led the team in scoring (5G / 10A) with 15 points, and both Max Pacioretty and Patrick Kane had 13 points in 13 games.
Who Didn’t
The Jackets had to have hoped for more than 4 points from David Krejci in these playoffs, and more than 2 in this second round, especially with him playing on the 1st line with Kadri and Pacioretty, who both put up plenty of points.
Offseason Preview: UFA
David Krejci, Mika Zibanejad, Marc-Andre Fleury, and Kevan Miller are all due new deals. With Elvis Merzlikins signed for the next 4 years at $4.5 million, and David Krejci departing the NHL, it seems likely the Jackets will bring back Zibanejad.
Offseason Preview: Entry Draft
The Jackets own only 3 picks in the upcoming draft, their own 1st, Edmonton’s 4th, and their own 7th. They’ll have to look to other avenues to add for next year.
